This watch was made by Dr. Burchardt Hahn from Merzig in the style of a Black Forest glass bell clock (wooden wheel clock). It plays "Always practicd Loyalty and Integrity" on the hour and a sequence of notes on the half hour.
The striking lacquer sign depicts the "Seven Liberal Arts", Chronos and Death. It was painted by Andreas Kutsche from Losheim - a painter from the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory.
The god Chronos wears wings as an expression of the fleeing time (Tempus fugit). To the right is dialectics (speech and counter-speech). At bottom right is Geometria, she is scantily clad because she shares a cloak with Astronomy (Urania at top left). In addition to Geometria, Arithmetic, which not only helps geometry, but also looks to the Musica on the bottom left in front of the organ (relationships of the tones). On the dial on the right, Rhetorica defends her own point of view with the weapons of rhetoric, on the left, Grammatica teaches the children.
Manufacture: 1990s
