Alarm clock with monk
The figure clock made of black cast iron represents a chapel-like building in which a monk rings a bell. The neo-Gothic watch case is characterized by vegetal elements, a Gothic tracery (circular arc ornamentation) on the bottom in the middle, four ornate feet, a gable flower (finial), knots on the right and left (bud-like structures) and a vault with eight Columns with pointed arches is supported. Inside you can see the figure of a monk who pulls a rope when the striking mechanism is triggered, which causes a brass-colored bell to strike in the roof above the clock mechanism. The clockwork in a cylindrical case has an enamel dial with a brass border, Roman numerals from one to twelve and Arabic numerals from five to twenty-four on the outside.
