Clock on an incline
Inclined plane
Table clock with drum-shaped clock case on a sloping surface. The rolling of the heavy watch drives the movement. The central drive wheel is connected via a lever arm to a counterweight located on the outer edge of the watch case. The counterweight is dimensioned in such a way that the watch - placed on the inclined plane - balances itself, i.e. does not roll off all at once. The inclined plane is carved from mahogany wood (flower and garland patterns as carvings). Dial with Arabic numerals, front edge with fire-gilt bronze beaded border, with floral and leaf pattern applications.
Manufacture: 4th quarter of the 19th century in France
