Description
The ball barrel watch - an example of the ingenuity and craftsmanship of watchmakers at the end of the 19th century. Note the twelve-second hand!
Plateau on four columns, dial with minute hand on the left and dial with second hand on the right, hours are displayed on the attached cup with a fixed pointer and rotating scale, brass with a fire-gilded bronze frame, spring mechanism with snail, gut rope and ball barrel, wooden base and square glass dome with a brass rim. The clock is regulated by the ball barrel of 12 seconds per way on a rocker.
